SALE - At age 80, it is time to sell all of my sporting collectibles. You will find all of them appealing and in superb condition. I have about three hundred duck and goose decoys that range from factory hunting decoys, to antique decoys, to hand carved quality hunting decoys, to highly sophisticated and elaborate competition decoys (many with ribbons). These decoys will range in value from a minor amount to many hundreds of dollars each, and some even value more than a thousand dollars each.

I will just be taking them out of the display cases one at a time to photograph and sell. This is as fine a PAIR of hand carved vintage Black Duck cork hunting decoys that you will ever see.

These decoys were carved and painted by avid Duck Hunter R. Sears, of Rockville, Maryland, for his own hunting use. As you can see, these are very high quality, and must have drawn many a Mallard. SIZE: 18" LONG 8" WIDE 9.5 TALL. I would have very much liked to meet him, and share many duck hunting adventures.

His daughter can be proud of him, as I and others, very much appreciate the quality of his decoys. Each has a thick solid wood base, with a low keel, with an inlaid lead weight. The hand carved cork bodies, solid wood heads, and wood bases, are very well done.

The paint is very well done, and still remains in excellent original condition, with great patina. I would grade these exquisite decoys as being in superb condition, when you realize the carver hunted over them for years. You will immediately realize how well they are built, and how well the East Coast carver cared for them over the years.

I have four Black Duck decoys, a pair of Mallard Ducks, and this Black Duck pair, done by this carver. This listing is for a Black Duck pair, as shown in the photos. All are vintage hunting decoys, and wIll show signs of use. MANY MORE GREAT ITEMS WILL BE GOING INTO THE ZEBRATOWN STORE OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS.
