The story goes that Ed Kellie better known as " Ed one arm Kellie " (he only had one arm but still carved a wonderful decoy) was commissioned to make a small rig of duck decoys. When the tide went out the hunters had to drag a boat and all of their gear across many sand bars to hunt ducks. That made the wood boat, guns, ammo, decoys, very heavy and a real challenge.

Ed carved 2/3 the normal size so the hunter could have more decoys on the water with less weight. These are RARE and very sought after made by Kellie.
