8" high x 17" long x 7.5 wide. Cork body with a carved wooden head. This decoy has been in my family for generations, I remember it being in my grandmother's basement when I was a little girl in Orland Village, and it was old then.It sat on a stone wall near the c istern and spider webs. I come from generations of hunters and my family has lived in Maine since the Mayflower! There were actually 2 decoys this one and one that was all wood carved. I will be making a listing for that one too.
Scoters are a type of diving duck that are commonly found close to shore in winter. They like shallow water because their main prey this time of year are the mollusks (clams and mussels) - commonly found in shallow water (they'll also eat a variety of aquatic invertebrates, small fish and some plant material). So you'll often see groups of scoters bobbing along in the breaking waves. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS. Send me a message if you have any questions. And thank you for visiting!
