We got this Quintessential Couple from a fellow collector several years ago. They have been sitting on our shelf since we got them. Offered here is a Very Collectable Pair of last quarter 20th Century Decoys. These Upper Chesapeake Bay Bluebill Rig Mates from Elkton, MD are over 30 years old. This pair of wing duck style decoys made by Bob Litzenberg is in Mint Original Condition.They are Solid Body Decoys with flat bottoms. They have Nicely Shaped Rounded Backs and Paddle Tails. They have a carved platform or neck shelf where the head is mounted to the body. They both have Thick Dry Original Paint. They have Finely Painted Feathering on their Backs and Tails along with Detailed Painted Wing Patterns.
Their Alert Forward-looking Heads are Very Nicely Carved. They have Boldly Carved Beak/Face Separation and their Bills have both Carved Nostrils and Partial Mandibles. They have Bobs Painted Eyes with his telltale White Dot.
Hen has a slight putty pop. Both Decoys: Retain Original Leather Tab and Flat Lead Pad Ballast Weight Rigging Both Have Original Makers Note on Lead Pad Bottom = Robert G Litzenberg Elkton, MD 1987 in electropen. Decoys Display Well Each Sits about 5½ Inches Tall Both are About 12½ inches from End of Tail to Tip of Bill Both are About 5¾ Inches Wide Total Weight is About 1 Pound and 7 Ounces each.
