Vintage Folky Wood Goose Decoy- Unknown Maker. For sale is a nice vintage solid wood Goose Decoy- Unknown Maker. It looks like one that would have been made in the New Brunswick Canada area or Maine.
Just not sure on this one??? There is an old tape label on the bottom that states " Pond Goose - Small Ponds - Maker Unknown - Maine Made or Canadian Made + came to Maine". I originally found this bird and several other decoys years ago at an old estate here in town.Judging from the amount of dust and dirt on them they had been collected decades ago and left on shelves in the basement. If I had to guess they had been collected in the 1970's/80's. This goose looks to be in all original paint and condition. It measures 19 3/4 inches long (tip of bill to tip of tail), 8 5/8 inches at it's widest point and stands 5 1/2 inches tall. There is some type of iron nail/spike/screw that runs thru the head attaching it to the body.
Part of the head of the screw is protruding thru the top of the head. There are some slight cracks on it's back. Great looking bird that displays well!
