Vintage Redhead Duck Decoy Nick Purdo St. Clair/ Detroit Michigan Glass Eyes

Rare vintage Nick Purdo Redhead Duck Decoy from Eastern Michigan Detroit/ St. This decoy was acquired from a private collector. Dating late 40s - early 1950s.

I absolutely love the amazing patina - the story this old glory reveals. Please note how rare the redhead is - Nick carved numerous canvasbacks, but almost no redheads. The whole look, the lifelike head, and masterful carving make this old gunner one to cherish for generations. I verified the authenticity with Detroit experts.

Interesting note: I left the writing on the bottom because i thought it was really cool. The old gentleman I bought it from was convinced it was Ben Schmidt, and proudly write that on it.

But it is not a Ben Schmidt. But I thought it added to the story to keep it. Please feel free to ask questions. I have other Michigan decoys to sell, and some from the St Clair/ Ontario regions.
