Description : An antique carved and painted working Black Duck Decoy, 17L, Mason Decoy Factory, Detroit, Michigan, c. Premier Grade model with cedar body, pine head and original glass eyes. Well delineated and correctly-incised bill; artistically painted with a high level of realism. Every collection deserves at least one Mason Black Duck. The photos are probably the best description. Condition : Honest gunning/field wear throughout including dings, scuffs, rubs, shot scars, soiling, etc. Consistent with age, use and exposure to the elements. It has not been cleaned. That would be wishful thinking. Considering the inherent nature of painted wood and exposure to the elements over time, areas of repaint and/or restoration, including in-field touch ups, would not be out of the question.
